Q: How can I start buying on Foodie?

A: All you have to do is to sign up as a Foodie user and you’ll have the ability to be both a buyer and a seller.


Q: How do I pay for the listing on Foodie?

A: Upon requesting to buy, you will be asked to provide credit card details to the Stripe payment gateway. Your credit card will be authorized immediately but charged for the total listing price plus Foodie fees when the seller accepts the buy request.


Q: What are Foodie’s fees for buying?

A: Foodie’s fee for buying is 5% of the listing price. This fee helps us run Foodie, cover credit card transactions and commit to our Foodie Pledge of donating 2.5% of revenues to local hunger programs to help reduce hunger in your community.


Q: How do I get the food from the seller?

A: The platform is setup to where the buyer will come to the sellers’ home to pick up the food. Coordination of specific times can be made through the direct messaging channel that opens between the buyer and seller.


Q: How do I know that my buy request was accepted.

A: All buy requests will require an acceptance from the seller before proceeding with the transaction. Once the seller accepts your request, you will be sent an email. You may also coordinate through the direct messaging channel that opens between the buyer and seller.


Q: When will my credit card be charged?

A: Upon request, your credit card will only be authorized for the amount of the listing. It is not until the seller accepts your buy request that your card will be charged.


Q: Can I report a user or listing?

A: Yes, you can report listings by clicking the “Report” link under the listings title. You can also report the user by clicking “Report” under “Hello, I’m …” at the bottom of the listing.


Q: What should I do if I have had a food safety or hygiene complaint?

A: You should report the listing by clicking the “Report” link under the listings title. You can also report the user to the local enforcement agency. The following link has a list of jurisdictions that you can find information for how to file a complaint with the local enforcement agency.

Selling

Q: How can I start selling on Foodie?

A: All you have to do is to sign up as a Foodie user and you’ll have the ability to be both a buyer and a seller. Please note that you are advised to look into the laws and regulations of your local jurisdiction to determine what and how you can sell legally.


Q: How do I get money from the listing that I sell on Foodie?

A: Upon completing your first listing, you will be asked to provide banking details to the Stripe payment gateway. Once you have entered this information once, you will be able to receive the amount that you earn on each listing.


Q: How much does Foodie charge for a listing?

A: It doesn’t cost anything to list on Foodie, however a 10% fee will be assessed when a transaction occurs. This fee is deducted from the total listing price and the remaining 90% of the listing will be deposited into the bank account information that you provided within 7 days.


Q: What are Foodie’s fees for selling?

A: Foodie’s fee for selling is 10% of the listing price and is only assessed when the transaction is complete and will be deducted from the total listing price. This fee helps us run Foodie, cover credit card transactions and commit to our Foodie Pledge of donating 2.5% of revenues to local hunger programs to help reduce hunger in your community.


Q: Can I list something for free?

A: There is a minimum price that is required for each listing. This minimum price is there to cover any fees that may be assessed to you for your listing. Additionally, having a minimum price for listings increases that chances that the buyer will actually come and pick up the food.


Q: Will my bank account be charged for any selling fees?

A: You will never have any fees deducted from your bank account. All fees are based off of completed transactions and will be deducted from the total listing price before the remaining amount that you earn is deposited into your bank account within 7 days.


Q: Why does it take 7 days to get money deposited into my bank account?

A: In most cases it will take much less than 7 days to receive the amount that you earn on listings to your bank account. However, due to bank holidays, weekends and bank processing times; it is possible that it could take a full week for the funds to arrive in your account.


Q: How do I provide the food to a buyer?

A: The platform is setup to where the buyer will come to the sellers’ home to pick up the food. Coordination of specific times can be made through the direct messaging channel that opens between the buyer and seller.


Q: What if I run out of the food item I am listing?

A: All buy requests will require an acceptance from the seller before proceeding with the transaction. You can decline the requests for any reason. We do recommend that you close your listing or edit available dates if you run out of the item you are listing.


Q: Do I need a license to sell food on Foodie?

A: This depends on the local laws, regulations and ordinances of your local jurisdiction. Each state has different laws and within those state, counties and cities could have different requirements. Q: Does Foodie have liability insurance that would cover me in an incident arising from the sale or consumption of my listing?

A: Foodie does not have any liability insurance that would cover sellers from incidents arising from the sale or consumption of their listings.
